And NEVER EVER EVER wear a tshirt with a logo on it underneath a dress shirt, whether wearing a suit or not. It's alot easier to clean up and polish the edge of a leather soled shoe. There are lots of nice shoes out there with rubber soles, and they may look nice when brand new, but once they've been worn a bit, they look a little ashy. Always leather soled shoes when wearing a suit. There's a noticeable difference between a supercuts haircut that costs $12 and a more expensive one that costs $25 (I can't tell, but others can.) That doesn't mean you've got to buy an expensive one, just don't wear a super-cheap $10 watch. But something that I never paid much attn to until someone pointed it out to me.) (black/black, brown/brown, it's not hard. No matter what you're wearing, whether going casual or in a suit, the belt and shoes always need to match. With a suit, it's all about how it fits, not how expensive it is. A few things I've learned the hard way about small details that make a big difference: I'm a pretty young guy and on a budget too. PS: Are short sleeve dress shirts still 'IN' in the mid-West? YUK! It's personal taste, but make sure you buy a tie that ties in a nice, tight knot and NOT a huge knot the saze of a baseball! Usually, I decent silk tie will do the job.Ä«etween a nice shirt and a well tied tie, you will look sharp! Also, when the shirt starts to yellow with sweat stains, toss it. Also, have your shirts laundered by a professional. After a few trips to the laundry, it will shrink, and you will not have the gap at the tie. Also, buy the shirt an extra inch at the neck. I can't stand when men have a 1 inch plus gap at the collar. Burlington has a huge selection of fitted shirts. ![]() I always purchased 100% cotton French Cuff shirts from Burlington Coat Factory or a talyor in Hong Kong. A good looking suit is one thing, but (IMO), the shirt and tie make it all happen: If you hunt the racks, you will find some great values. At these places, I seldom paid more than $200 for a fairly decent looking suit. Even after I could afford very expensive suits (And to date have never purchased one), I stayed with placed like the Clotheing Broker, 3-Day suits and an occational buy at Macy's when on sale. ![]()
